How To Apply Highlight and Notes to Documents

Highlights and sticky notes can be applied right on the document.  Highlights can also be converted to redactions during production. 

To apply highlights or notes on the document, it must first have an image.  A document with an image has the border shown below.

If you do not see those borders, you must image the document first.   
 
To image a document: 

Select documents you wish to image** 

**Some document types will not image, or will not image well

Select Tools à Imaging

Select PDF à Next

Optional and automatic decline  

Under optional you have the option to select documents that are not automatically included, spreadsheets, PDFs etc.  Spreadsheets are a format that can be imaged, however they usually have high page counts, and do not render images that are easy to navigate.  These documents are better to be downloaded in their native format.   

To include optional documents select check box beside the optional inclusion you wish to include.

To Apply Highlights and Notes 

Highlights: 

Select the Highlight tool, and the highlight you wish to apply

Once you have the highlight selected, simply drag the highlight over the text you wish to highlight.

Notes: 

Select the Notes Tool

Once the Notes Tool is selected, click on the document where you want to place the note, select the note category, and type your note, click OK.

Notes content can be read and responded to after creation by double clicking on the note icon.
