Each case is different, and some may require their own specific custom fields. In Nuix, you can add as many custom fields as you like, and there are many options and controls available to manage them.
In this guide, we will show you the basic steps to add a custom field, give permissions to your users, and integrate it into a conditional coding template.
Please note you must be a Case Administrator to perform some of these actions.
Step 1: Add a new field
Within your case, navigate to Case Setup>Fields. In the top right of the screen, click "Add". Select your field type and name your field. For a description of the field types available, click here.
Step 2: Set Permissions
Click on your new field and select "Security" from the left hand menu.
Give read and/or write access to the relevant User Groups.
Step 3: Update a conditional template
Next, navigate to Case Setup>Conditional Templates. Select a relevant template, type your field name in the "Add Field" search bar, seelct the field, and click the plus icon.
Step 4: Refresh your window
Once the field is added, simply refresh your page and navigate back to your Browse pane to view and use your new field!
