How to Create a csv

Before you start:

Create a main folder which will contain your records and new csv

If using information from an AOD or another document have it already converted to an excel for ease of adding it to the csv

 

Creating the csv

 In the folder containing the records, select all the records

Click the ellipsis

Copy Path

Open an Excel document, and copy the path into the second column, leaving the first blank

Using find and replace, remove everything from the file path but the folder containing the documents you wish to import

You must keep the forward slash and the file extension of the record, or the import will not work

In column A assign document IDs to the records**

**if your documents have been assigned IDs already you can paste the file path into the first 2 columns and run find and replace to remove everything but the ID from Column A (including the file extension).

 

Once you have both columns setup, select tow 1, right click and insert

 In Row 1, column A Type DocumentID in column B type File Path

Go to File à Save As à Main Folder à Load File à csv utf 8
